Bats and whistles…..

Today I woke up to the sound of blowing whistles!!!No I was not in a train or a platform n neither was I dreaming….It was the kids in our locality who were merrily blowing whistles. Surprised about these kids playing with whistles, I went down to enquire. It was quite unusual to find so many kids with whistles of different colors, happily blowing them and competing with each other as to who makes the maximum noise!!!I had barely reached down when Sumit(the naughtiest among them all)came to me very sweetly  n wished me. To complement it 3-4 kids blew their whistles near my ears!!!!Angrily I caught one of them(I should say I was lucky to catch one of them !!)and asked from where did they get these whistles. Sumit pointed to the road ahead of our building. There was a big crowd with flags and blowing whistles and shouting..

Seeti..seeti…seeti….vote kara seetilaa!!!(vote for the whistle)well!!i still don’t know the candidates name..all I know is seeti…

It was futile reasoning with the kids not to blow whistles .but the election saga doesn’t end here..After about an hour, some people with Bats (cricket bat) came knocking at the door and said

Vote for bat….aap ka vote bat ka vote.

….I expected them to give me a bat as a promotional activity but I was disappointed, I din not get one but Sumit got a bat ….he’s looking out for someone to come and give him a ball (cricket ball)!!!And I am waiting for the` vote for gas cylinder’ party to come knocking at my door with a gas cylinder….
